Do you have a “To Do List” you are working your way through? I do. I love the feeling of getting things done on my list. Seeing those check marks or X’s in the box make me feel so good. Yes, I draw a little check box next to the items on the list if I am working on one that is hand written. Being organized with my list helps me keep on top of my priorities and not lose track of important tasks.
For many years of raising kids, I was great at getting the lists completed. There was one moment that was a major change in my list making and it changed things for me going forward. When my kids were old enough to stay home during summer days when my husband and I were away at work, I would make “To Do Lists” for them. They were able to enjoy sleeping in and my husband and I returned to a clean house. It was a win/win. To make the lists more interesting than: vacuum, empty the dishwasher, clean your bathroom, I added things like – laugh 5 times with your brother.
After adding some fun things to the kids’ “To Do List”, I started to find ways to add FUN to my to do list, and that made a big change in my focus. It became a priority to put fun into my day and I work to do that every day. Sometimes it might be watching a short funny video, other days it might be coffee and laughs with a friend, or a good laugh with the family. When days are real busy, the fun might be of a shorter duration, but it will be there. See what you can do to add some fun to your day.
Improve Every Day,
Linda
